Back with my second biggest addiction Laptop Bags. The team at Crosskase have sent me on another one of their versatile cases to review. So i have spent the last four weeks putting it through its paces
As a Business Consultant who is on the go all day I have to use a Laptop Bag everyday for work and it needs to do a lot for me as i need to carry about a lot of tech for my job.
Very like their other case At first glance this appears slim yet has to ability to expand Laptop Backpack, Messenger & Tote Bag, this is due to the rigidity designed to protect our beloved Apple products. As i have mentioned in previous reviews you can tell the designers of this bag are Apple fan boys as the attention to detail is obvious. I managed to fill the EIGHTY 6 Laptop Backpack, Messenger & Tote Bag with my Macbook (which is in a sleeve) its full power cable ,iPad Air which is in a bulky Lifeproof fré case and a number of chargers, cables, keyboard, external hard drives, keynote remotes, Even after all this there was still room to move in the bag for paperwork etc. You do feel that the cushioned internal skin does a good job at keeping your precious gadgets damage free.
What They Say
The Eighty 6 is the complete 17.3 inch laptop bag for city commuters. The intelligent 3-in-1 design delivers a laptop backpack, messenger and dual attaché bag which means you can carry it the way to suit your environment. The backpack straps simply hide away when not in use.
The storage options are extensive. Cocooned in a contemporary design, there is a dedicated laptop compartment that fits 17.3 inch and 15.6 inch laptops, iPad pocket and pockets for power cables, business cards, hard drives, documents, pens, money and other small essentials. Everything has its place.
This function-rich bag weighs just 1.2kgs and is made from heavy duty 600D polyester. Whatever your urban challenge, you be confident your tech is in a safe place.
We have recently moved office and i have a 10 min walk from that car and as you can imagine with the amount of kit i am carrying the Backpack function has really come in handy.Looking at the quality of the straps as well i think they will take a bit of abuse and will stand the test of time. It’s really cool as well how they are tucked away when not in use.I have to say after using probably close to 20 different laptop backpacks in my time this has been the most comfortable.
I use this function of the EIGHTY 6 daily and even though i am carrying a decent amount of weight in the bag it is surprisingly comfortable , as like with all similar bags i would say time will tell and i will update this post in a few months time with and update on how it is holding up to wear and tear due to everyday use over a continuous period time.
As a carry case it actually has a clever feature of two handles on the top and one on the side so you can carry it in landscape or portrait mode. I have noticed over the past week as i use this function more the handles aren’t springing back into shape as quick but to be honest it’s not a big deal.
I have been using the Crosskase EIGHTY 6 Laptop Backpack, Messenger & Tote Bag now for about 4 weeks 5 days a week day and it has been through a fair bit of punishment but as the materials are of such high quality looking at the case you would think its brand new. Crosskase have delivered again a very unique versatile Laptop bag.
This case really is an all rounder. I haven’t decided yet is it going to be my case for the foreseeable future as i am a HUGE fan of their SUPA PRO LAPTOP BAG which was my permanent case before the EIGHTY 6 the Supa Pro is another case that has soo much space for all my gear it was perfect for me at the time.
The only thing that has changed now is i have to walk for 10mins to my car and the Supa Pro is carry case so it could take its toll on my shoulder. Decisions decisions decisions 🙂
